Why Alternative Flours?
Here at Tenzo, all of our products can be made with alternative flours, including the following:
- brown rice flour
- white rice flour
- almond flour
- soy flour
- potato starch
- sweet rice flour
- tapioca flour
- quinoa flour
- cornstarch
We offer these flours for a variety of reasons:
- Some individuals have allergies or sensitivities to wheat flours and to gluten, thus limiting their intake and exposure to these ingredients
- These flours offer a richer flavor to our products
- Many of these flours are nutritionally superior to processed white wheat flour

And, keeping with our Tenzo philosophy, a portion of all proceeds from alternative flour orders will be donated to the Center for Celiac Research at the University of Maryland.
In addition to gluten sensitivities, we are cognizant that some people are also lactose intolerant or have other allergies. We are always excited to try new recipes which do not incorporate these products, as long as you are willing to sample them and give us your feedback!
